Loving Gay Couple Desperate for Better Future
Hello, we are Jon and Chad, a newlywed gay couple. We have been committed for over four years, but only recently were we able to make our marriage legal. After officially announcing it this past week, my husbands entire immediate family disowned him one by one due to their religious beliefs. My family as well does not support our relationship for the same reason, and as a result we are on our own. We have been struggling financially for years without any help from family. And sadly, we cannot afford a honeymoon.
We are looking for a sum of money to help us jump start our married life. In truth, we would like to raise $40,000, enough so that we can take a much needed, long vacation/honeymoon, some to put away for the future, and some to invest in our charity in support of gay people who come from non-affirming backgrounds. A few friends have been kind enough to give what they can, but it is simply not enough. We are nearing our mid-thirties and time is of the essence. We are exhausted physically, emotionally, and mentally. We need a break, now.
We need a vacation/honeymoon to recharge so we can come back feeling renewed, and dive into building our life together. With the money that is left over we plan to save and invest in our ministry in an effort to reach out and help other gay people who feel hopeless and lost like we once did. We want the freedom to do this without constantly having to stress out about where money is coming from. We plan to continue raising money, but we need this boost to start process.
So we are asking you to please find it in your heart to help us out. If you have the means, then you can put smiles on our faces and give us the hope and money we so desperately need to keep fighting for positive change in the world and equality for all.
Thank you so much for reading our story!
